Our Story & Roots
- Phillip and Sara Roliz, Co-founders-
Phillip started roasting coffee in 2012 as a passion, crafting deeply flavorful beans. Within a few years, family and friends asked him to roast a bit extra each time for themselves. In 2018, combining Phillip’s stellar skills and Sara’s 15-year career in operations, they officially launched Sunset Roasters from their home in San Francisco's Sunset District where the community warmly embraced their product! Then the pandemic of 2020 hit, and to their surprise, word about Sunset Roasters spread. With a new workforce of people at home, it was evident that coffee enthusiasts longed for the offerings of their (now closed) workplace kitchens; they were more than happy to seek a quality product while also supporting a family business.
So, here we are! A micro-roasting operation in the Sunset District of San Francisco, serving locally and shipping nationwide. Sunset Roasters is all about flavor, friendship, and community. Thank you for being a part of our community!
